WHAT is Community Club?

Community Club is a program of Possibility Place. It is a social group created for adults with disabilities who want to get together and do fun things such as movie and popcorn nights, bowling, dances, board game nights, karaoke nights, community events, and more.

Community Club will host approximately 10-11 events per year, usually on Friday evenings from 6-8:30.

The events will be run by Community Club Co-Directors, Katie Medrano, Derek Prince, and volunteers.

 

The cost for adults not enrolled in Possibility Place Pals is a flat rate of $130.00 annually. If an event includes a meal or special outing, that will be an additional cost.

The cost for Possibility Place Pals is $85.00 annually.  

However, if an event includes a meal or special outing, we will ask families to cover that cost.

 

While Community Club is a host site for Best Buddies MTSU, it is NOT "pay to play" .

To be eligible for Best Buddies MTSU you must be an active member of one of the host sites, Community Club or Possibility Place. For Possibility Place you must be a registered Pal. For Community Club, the requirement is for the clubber to attend at least 4 (one per quarter) of the 10-11 monthly events.

WHO is eligible for Community Club?

Adults 18 and over who have a primary diagnosis of an intellectual or developmental disability and are:

  • independent in self-care skills (toileting, eating, etc.)

  • mature enough to be able to interact appropriately with the other adults in the program as well as staff and volunteers.

  • have physical and cognitive needs that are manageable enough to not require one-on-one assistance.

  • demonstrate socially appropriate behavior, not aggressive in any way, and not pose a flight risk.

Potential clubbers must fill out an annual membership application. After the "submit" button is clicked you will be redirected to PayPal to pay the annual fee.

 

*You DO NOT need a PayPal account to pay here. If you do not have PayPal, click "PayPal Checkout", then on the next page "Pay with Debit Card or Credit Card". You can pay with any card.

Our June EVENt

​

What: Movie Night

When: Friday, June 23 from 6 - 8:30pm (doors open at 5:50)

Where: The Experience Community Church 

Bring: $7 for dinner, drinks, and popcorn

​

We are going to have burgers, chips, and drinks for dinner, and afterwards we will watch either The Princess Bride or Pinocchio (clubbers will vote) and have popcorn with our movie.  Your clubber is welcome to bring blankets, pillows, or bean bags to sit on the floor.  

 

As always, ONLY fill out the registration if you know your clubber will be attending. We always purchase food according to the number of those registered. If your Pal registers and doesn't attend, we will ask that you pay for their meal at the next event.  We thank you for your understanding.
